  • Re-opening of the Central Office of NSW SLASA in Fairfield and the new office in Waterloo, Sydney City. 

 

We have the pleasure of announcing to the Spanish speaking community that, as a result of negotiations with the Department of Immigration, the Central Office of NSW SLASA will again be open to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays. Opening hours will be, as of Monday 16th of August 2010, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 1.00pm and from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.   

The resolution of individual cases will be available from Tuesday through to Friday. Strictly those whom have resided in Australia less than five years will be attended to on Tuesdays. To ensure you are attended to, appointments should be arranged by calling 9724 2220.

   

  • Opening of the new office in Waterloo, 221 Cope St., Waterloo NSW 2017.

  

NSW SLASA is pleased to announce that, due to the growing demand for services by Spanish speaking residents of less than 5 years in the area, a new office has been opened in Waterloo to provide services to this growing community. This office will provide direct services to individuals and will support community development in the area.   

  

For individual cases, please make an appointment for either, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday by calling 93190090 or 93190288.    

  

The objective of our web page is to establish a mode of communication through which our community can be better informed about our services, activities and projects. We aim to promote the participation of our growing community in multicultural Australia.

  • The Spanish and Latin American Cultural Centre (SLACEN) 

  

This is new initiative of NSW SLASA is located at 34 Dale St., Fairfield, (next to our Central office). 

The main objectives of the Centre are to:

 

  • Create an environment conducive to the advancement of social, cultural and  performing art skills and abilities.
  • Promote social cohesion, cooperation and partnerships
  • Raise the profile of the Spanish-speaking communities’ culture, music and its arts in Australia. 

  

The place have been refurbished and made available to our community cultural groups that would like to use it for rehearsals, workshops, expos, etc. The hiring cost is low and we provide Public Liability Insurance for those groups, which do not have one.  

This project is part of NSW SLASA vision to encourage practicing our culture in all its forms of expression, and it is the beginning of the Vision of a Cultural Centre for the future, with a larger space and availability to accommodate all forms of expression of Spanish and Latin American Art - Culture.
