Objectives NSW SLASA
The underlying objectives of NSW SLASA are:
a. To inform the Spanish speaking community of their rights and responsibilities as members of Australian Society and to encourage them to participate in the wider Australian communtiy.
b. To act as a resource centre for the Spanish speaking community in NSW and provide information regarding: health, education, social welfare, and law, as well as other areas that may become relevant in the future.
c. To create and promote social networks and activites within the Spanish speaking community in NSW.
d. To promote self-help activities in the Spanish speaking community in NSW.
e. To provide advice or help to any Spanish speaking organization or group as requested, in establishing services related to health, education, social welfare, or legal.
f. To act as a liason between members of the Spanish speaking community and government departments or other agencies in the Australian community.
g. To act on behalf of individuals and groups from the Spanish speaking community in matters related to NSW SLASA's objectives and their contact with government departments and other services.
h. To promote and encourage the participation of Spanish speakers in Australian community activities.
i. To promote Spanish and Latin-American cultural activities.
j. The Association will be a non political, non religious, non racial and non profit making organization.
k. To construct, conduct, manage and operate aged care facilities intended to meet the needs of older people of Spanish speaking background (particularly those on low or modest incomes)
